Menstrual Cycle

The menstrual cycle is the changes in the ovaries and the lining of the uterus. This is starting with the preparation of an egg for fertilizations. This is when the egg is released from the ovary for fertilization and ovulation occurs. Now unless pregnancy occurs, the cycle ends, shedding part of the endometrium, this is menstruation. Even though this is actually the end of the physical cycle, the first day of bleeding is called the Day 1 of the menstrual cycle in the medical Industry.
